Premium Garden Soil Delivery in Violet, LA

Premium Garden Soil for Violet projects

Compost settles, so a raised Violet lot gets Premium Garden Soil on top of the rough-graded fill instead of in its place. Around a tree or shrub it is the backfill. The answer in Violet is to cap the fill with Premium Garden Soil where grass will grow.

Premium Garden Soil in Violet: what to know

After the fill goes in, Premium Garden Soil is the finish: a screened blend of topsoil and compost for new beds, raised beds, and the backfill around a tree or shrub. On a raised Violet lot it goes on top of rough-graded fill, not in place of it, because compost settles. A few inches over the fill is the finish before sod. It is not a base or a drainage layer.

Questions

I am raising my lot after the flood. Which material do I order?

For rough fill to bring up the grade, River Sand or Spillway Dirt, packed in layers. Cap it with Premium Garden Soil where grass will grow. Fill under a slab, footing or foundation follows an engineer's spec, so ask your engineer before you order.
