Hardwood Mulch
Double ground hardwood and bark, dark brown and fibrous. It goes on beds to hold moisture and slow weeds, and it breaks down over time and feeds the soil underneath.
Hardwood mulch is made from hardwood timber and bark run through a grinder twice. The second pass is what gives it the shredded, fibrous texture that knits together on a bed instead of floating off. It darkens and settles as it ages, and it breaks down into the soil over a season or two.
Hardwood mulch suppresses weeds, retains soil moisture, moderates soil temperature, improves aesthetics, and breaks down to enrich soil over 12–18 months with minimal maintenance required
from $95.00 /yd³
Not recommended for direct plant stem contact; maintain 3–4" clearance from tree trunks. May attract termites if placed against wood structures. Color fades over 6–12 months; reapply as needed.
